Multicolor Abstract Stripe Moroccan Rug

Bands of color meet loose abstract shapes in this Berber rug, a modern take on tribal pattern. The stripes are uneven by nature, because each row is knotted by hand. Stripes make a room feel wider and hide everyday wear, which makes this a practical choice for a busy living room or family room. It pairs well with simple, modern furniture in neutral colors. Every rug is woven to order from washed natural sheep's wool and natural dyes, with a pile of about 3–4 cm (1.2–1.6 in). Weaving takes 4–6 weeks; you approve photos of the finished rug before it is shipped, free and with duties paid, to the US or Australia. Colorful Berber rugs grow out of the same Amazigh weaving traditions as Beni Ourain and Boujad pieces, with more freedom in palette and pattern. This rug is hand-knotted to order from naturally dyed wool by a woman weaver in the network of about forty artisans we work with in Morocco.

Vacuum regularly on low suction without the beater bar, and keep the vacuum off the fringe. Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth; do not rub. Turn the rug every few months so it wears and fades evenly. For a deep clean, use a professional cleaner who works with wool. A few loose fibers are normal in the first weeks of a new wool rug.
