ZenRug exists to bring the beauty and craftsmanship of Moroccan handmade rugs to homes around the world, while building direct relationships with the women who make them. Every rug is a collaboration — Amazigh craftsmanship, woven by hand, and made to order for the space it will live in.
The women behind the rugs
Behind every rug is a woman whose hands carry a living craft.
ZenRug works directly with around fifty Moroccan Amazigh women — individually and through artisan cooperatives — across different regions of Morocco, including the Atlas Mountains, Khénifra, and Oued Zem.
A significant number are divorced women, widows, and women in vulnerable circumstances. Their skill, artistry, and dedication are at the center of everything we make — each rug carries the mark of the woman who wove it.
Heritage
A living Amazigh craft.
Moroccan rug-making is a handcraft passed between generations of Amazigh women. Each rug is woven by hand from natural wool, so no two are ever exactly alike — the small variations are the signature of real handwork.
ZenRug brings this traditional craft into contemporary homes, interpreting it one handmade rug at a time.

It begins with natural wool, prepared for weaving.

The loom is set and the rug is planned by hand.

Each rug is woven and knotted entirely by hand.

The finished rug is trimmed and readied with care.

Because each rug is made after you order, it takes about four weeks.
