Multicolor Abstract Stripe Moroccan Rug

Where many Moroccan rugs center on a single motif, this one mixes them: bands of multicolor stripe run alongside abstract geometric shapes, so the eye keeps moving across the surface. The effect is contemporary and a little unpredictable, closer to modern art than to a strict repeat. This rug takes an improvisational approach, combining stripes and abstract forms freely. It is made entirely by hand by Moroccan women artisans in the Berber (Amazigh) tradition, with the multicolor design handwoven in wool. Because the pattern is drawn by hand, the width of the stripes and the placement of the shapes vary from one rug to the next, giving each piece its own composition.

Vacuum gently and regularly with low suction, steering clear of the fringes. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing. Avoid prolonged direct sun and rotate the rug periodically for even wear. Keep harsh chemicals away from the wool. For deep cleaning or difficult stains, rely on a professional wool-safe rug cleaner.
