Handmade in the Atlas Mountains.
ZenRug brings authentic Moroccan Berber rugs direct from artisan cooperatives to your home — no middlemen, fair-trade pricing, and the full story behind every hand-knotted piece.

A bridge between two worlds.
ZenRug was born from a deep love of Moroccan craftsmanship and a desire to bring it to the world in an honest, direct way. Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, we work hand-in-hand with women's cooperatives in the Middle and High Atlas Mountains.
Our founder traveled to Morocco and saw firsthand the extraordinary skill and artistry of Berber weavers — and the limited economic opportunities available to them. ZenRug was created to change that: fair partnerships, fair prices, and a direct path from the loom to your living room.

Made by hand. Impossible to replicate.
Every rug in our collection is entirely handmade using techniques passed down through generations. No machines, no shortcuts. A single medium-sized rug can take weeks — sometimes months — to complete.
The weavers use natural wool, often hand-spun and dyed with plant-based pigments like saffron, indigo, and madder root. Each imperfection is intentional: it's the signature of the human hand, the mark that distinguishes an authentic piece from anything mass-produced.
What We Stand For
Four principles guide everything we do at ZenRug.
Authenticity
Every rug is certified Moroccan origin — hand-knotted or flat-woven by real artisans. Never mass-produced.
Empowerment
We pay above-market rates directly to women's cooperatives, supporting financial independence.
Transparency
You know where your rug comes from, who made it, and how. No middlemen, no mystery supply chains.
Sustainability
Natural materials, traditional methods, and recycled textiles. Rugs built to last decades, not seasons.
